In our baptisms, God claims as children of the heavenly kingdom for all eternity. We do not need to worry about measuring up or earning our way into heaven somehow. Our place in God's family is secured through the waters organically and miraculously, and God's love for us is not easily shaken.

Epiphany is the season after Christmas in which we remember the visit of the Wise Men, the Magi, to pay homage to the Christ child. Through their visit, the wise men not only testified to the divine power of the child as heralded through the cosmos, they also represented the ancient empires from which they likely came submitting to the grace and love of the Savior they sought out. On Matthew 2:1-12 and Isaiah 60:1-6.

Rev. Troy Onsager grew up in Ronan and now serves as the pastor of Escalon Presbyterian Church in Escalon, California. In this sermon he preached about how the Son of God became a native of our world in the incarnation, freeing us from our captivity to it.

Rev. Seth Nelson's Christmas Eve sermon focuses on how the descent of the Son of God into our world at Christmas likely felt like a loss to the angelic host in heaven that was tasked with sharing this message to Mary and the shepherds. However, through the incarnation both heaven and earth are made new - something worth rejoicing in all over the world and in the highest heavens.
