Life is full of unexpected challenges. Trials come from many directions, pressure to fit in, struggles at school, relationships, and even doubts about our future. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But in these moments, God calls us to stand firm and not lose heart. The Word of God has the solution for us how to overcome trials.

In the most learned city, in the most exclusive of courts, Paul is invited to explain this new message he proclaims of Christ crucified. Mars Hill, an opportunity to engage the culture of his day with the gospel. Time to rise to the new challenge. It was important then, it is important now. Are we prepared to do the same?

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything. Rather, He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.”

Acts 17:24-25

The miracles in the Book of Acts are foundational to understanding how the Early Church grew and how God's power worked through the Apostles. In a world where skepticism is rising, the miracles remind us that God continues to intervene in believers' lives today. As believers in Christ, we are called to have faith in His power to intervene and to be a vessel through which His miraculous power can flow, leading others to Christ.

What lessons can we learn from the miracles in the book of Acts about trusting God for the impossible?

“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.”

Acts 13:38-39

Grace, love, and all of the above. A Holy Spirit empowered group of believers is on the rise. Expanding the gospel to all the people of the earth. The growth of the church raises new questions which must be answered. Are there non-negotiables in Christ? What about the law? How do we co-exist with others in the church?

And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.

Acts 6:7

The birth of the church.

The fellowship of the saints.

The growth of the church.

These did not come without growing pains. How did the earliest followers of Jesus respond? Tonight we learn what it means to take our place and serve in the Kingdom of God.

The early church grew leaps and bounds. Experiencing moments of true fellowship, Godly community, and various giftings. But what happens when that faith is put under pressure through trials and persecution?

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8
