In Joshua 9 and 10 we see people from the Gibeonites that have humbled themselves before God's glory, and through this covenant they are protected alongside the Isrealites as they are attacked by many groups on all sides. This is a reflection of the future promise to Jesus that we can join into, and how through the covenant of Christ that cannot be broken we are protected from this world.

Deuteronomy 21 through 23 details very serious rules about murder and marriage. Within these short few chapters we see many rules that are applied in full in the New Testament. One of these details those who are hung on a pole for punishment; this same punishment, which God has declared cursed, is the way Jesus Christ has redeemed us for our sins, for by His death He has broken our curse.
