Today, I am blessed to have Spencer Feldman with me for the third time. Spencer founded https://remedylink.com, which formulates and manufactures detoxification products for doctors and their patients. His company specializes in helping support your body’s natural responses to heavy metal toxins.  We cover various aspects of gut health, microbiome rejuvenation, and the role of short-chain fatty acids in cancer development. Spencer emphasizes maintaining a healthy microbiome by opting for organic psyllium, reducing harmful bacteria, and balancing fermented foods. Additionally, we explore how dysbiosis in the gut microbiome can lead to the production of toxic substances. Tune in as we chat about what’s causing cancer and traditional cancer treatments.  / / E P I S O D E   S P ON S O R S  BonCharge: Blue light Blocking Glasses, Red Light Therapy, Sauna Blankets & More. [00:10] Opting for Organic Psyllium Non-organic psyllium may contain high levels of pesticides due to a loophole in FDA regulations.  Opting for organic psyllium is essential to avoid exposure to harmful chemicals.  Alternatively, one can obtain fiber from natural sources like soaked adzuki beans, which help break down anti-nutrients. [06:30] Microbiome Rejuvenation: Key Insights into Aging and Health Transplanting the microbiome from a young animal to an old one can rejuvenate the older animal, suggesting that the microbiome's composition affects the aging process. A toxic microbiome, characterized by inflammatory lipids, toxic amines, toxic short-chain fatty acids, and poisonous gases, can accelerate cellular senescence and contribute to aging.  To age gracefully, it's crucial to prioritize maintaining a healthy microbiome. [10:40] Optimizing Gut Health Beyond Probiotics and Prebiotics Spencer outlines a hierarchy of strategies for improving gut health. Initially, the focus was on probiotics, but it was found that simply adding more bacteria wasn't always effective. Prebiotics, which feed existing good bacteria, were then explored. However, even with adequate prebiotic support, if there's no space for good bacteria to grow, the bad bacteria dominate. Before introducing probiotics or prebiotics, reducing the population of harmful, gram-negative bacteria is crucial. [20:45] Microbiome Dysregulation Good short-chain fatty acids play a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions by fine-tuning cellular receptors.  Conversely, toxic short-chain fatty acids produced by bad bacteria disrupt these receptors, leading to inflammation, imbalanced immune responses, and a range of health issues, including diabetes, brain fog, and neurodegenerative diseases. Dysbiosis in the gut microbiome can lead to the production of toxic gases like methane, hydrogen sulfide, and ammonia. [30:40] Fermented Foods: Balancing Benefits and Risks for Gut Health Some fermented foods may produce D-lactic acid, which can cause neurological symptoms, especially in individuals with preexisting gut issues.  Additionally, certain bacteria used in fermentation can generate histamine, which may exacerbate problems for those with high amine loads in their gut. [39:30] The Role of Short-Chain Fatty Acids in Cancer Development 80% of cancers are believed to be caused by environmental factors.  Spencer proposes that a fundamental cause of cancer is related to short-chain fatty acids, which are crucial for various bodily functions.  AND MUCH MORE!
