In this sermon, we hear Jesus’ confronting words to the church in Laodicea—a community marked by self-sufficiency, pride, and lukewarm faith. Though they claimed to need nothing, Jesus exposed their true condition: wretched, poor, blind, and naked. Yet even in rebuke, He offers grace. Jesus calls His church to be zealous and repent, to welcome Him in, and to depend wholly on His mercy. To those who respond, He promises the astonishing honour of sitting with Him on His throne.
