As someone who suffers from depression, it is not a choice many make as much as it’s a chemical imbalance. There are actions people can take to alter those chemicals* Set goals as noted in the essay* Exercise regularly. It boosts endorphins * Eat healthy. You get the vitamins and minerals you need while staying away from salt and sugars that make you feel down.* Get enough sleep* Accept responsibilities in life* Challenge your negative thoughts* Try something new in life* Avoid alcohol and drugs* The purpose of life is one crafted by the individual. There is nothing that says you should survive, thrive or even exist.* We are the result of random chaos. Let’s capitalize on that by doing our damnedest to experience and enjoy as much as we can.* We need to recognize that life brings with it heartache and sorrow, pain and regret. These are normal aspects of life and help contextualize the joy and pleasures we also experience. Life knocks everyone down. * Further Evidence of the Satanic Age by Magister Paradise* Buy Now: https://amzn.to/30p9Ftm* This essay is framed as a reflection on Satanism’s impact on society and culture in the decades of its existence up until the 2000’s.* The 1960’s section seemingly ignoring the point of Satnism's existence while focusing on the surface differences between Christianity & Hippies and Satanism*  The 1970’s section parallels the vast exposure of Anton LaVey in the media with the seemingly newfound safe and protected sexual expressions in American culture through the widespread availability of oral contraceptives of women, and the securing of Abortion rights through Roe V. Wade.* The 1980’s is centered around the Christian Fundamentalist evolution and securing of political power, which enabled the Satanic Panic to demonize, and direct children and artists TO Satanism rather than away from it.* The 1990’s section actually begins with equating mandatory celibacy with pedophilia without presenting anything but opinion to back up the assertion. It also sees the explosion of availability of Satanism online.* The 2000’s focuses on the groundswell of Satanic media and adoption by youth, including the increase in Atheism and defense of Freedom From Religion in our society.* The essay concludes with the statement that ‘The Age of Satan is undeniably here!’ * I think it would be interesting to examine the 2010’s as well, as we see the market adoption of Satanic iconography and the cultural celebration and even in some cases acceptance of Satanism, we also see a rise in offshoots that are taken more seriously than previous. * This could be based on a number of facts like rise in wannabe Satanists not liking the religion and wanting to do their own thing all banding together in another form, the inclusion of political activism in daily life and the desire to include it under the banner of Satanism, ala Christian Fundamentalism but for the christian devil, or media needing to have a salacious headline to draw readership in a dying industry due to the adoption and connection of social media. * Though I don’t agree with the pedophelia assertion, everything else in this essay is great, and I believe it would be served well with a deeper examination of why Satanism was created and looking to the future, but you could argue, that’s what books like The Church of Satan and We Are Satanists are for.* I do suggest you check out Bearing the Devil’s Mark.

* 9sense Letters - When you say "Hail Satan" do you just mean "Hail Myself" or do you also mean something more as well?* I am excited that this is still a question because it means there is still some exoticism to this religion.* Satanists understand Satan to be a metaphor.* a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.* Because there is no actual physical or spiritual Satan, the idea of saying Hail Satan is a form of greeting, celebration and recognition of the concepts Satan represents. * In its most basic form, Hail Satan is nothing more than a greeting of hello or goodbye between some Satanists. * It's a form of empowerment. Speak of the Devil presents - Halloween LVI A.S. In this episode we will watch the documentary/horror film Häxan: Witchcraft Through The Ages while Reverend Campbell reflects on his occult experiences throughout his youth prior to joining the Church of Satan.

* Häxan: Witchcraft Through The Ages (1922)https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/haxan-witchcraft-through-the-ages-1922* Referred to in English as The Witches or Witchcraft Through the Ages, Häxan is a Swedish-Danish film, a curious and groundbreaking mix of documentary and silent horror cinema, written and directed by Benjamin Christensen. Whereas most films of the period were literary adaptations, Christensen's take was unique, basing his film upon non-fiction works, mainly the Malleus Maleficarum, a 15th-century treatise on witchcraft he found in a Berlin bookshop, as well as a number of other manuals, illustrations and treatises on witches and witch-hunting (a lengthy bibliography was included in the original playbill at the film's premiere). On literary adaptations Christensen commented: "In principal [sic] I am against these adaptations... I seek to find the way forward to original films." Instead Häxan was envisaged, as stated in the opening credits, as a "presentation from a cultural and historical point of view in seven chapters of moving pictures". While the bulk of the film's format, with its dramatic scenes portrayed by actors (including Christensen himself in the role of the devil), would have been familiar enough to cinema-goers at the time (although shocking in content), the first chapter, lasting 13 minutes, is a different story. With its documentary style and scholarly tone — featuring a number of photographs of statuary, paintings, and woodcuts — it would have been entirely novel — a style of screened illustrated lecture which wouldn't become popular till many years later. Indeed, the film perhaps could make a decent claim to being the first ever documentary (an accolade normally reserved for Robert J. Flaherty's ethnographic study from 1922 titled Nanook of the North). Reportedly the most expensive film of the Swedish silent film era, Häxan was actually banned in the United States, and heavily censored in other countries. In 1968, an abbreviated version of the film was released. Titled Witchcraft Through the Ages, it featured an eclectic jazz score by Daniel Humair and dramatic narration by the wonderfully gravel-toned William S. In addition, several large scale models are employed to demonstrate medieval concepts of the structure of the solar system and the commonly accepted depiction of Hell.* Part 2* The second segment of the film is a series of vignettes that theatrically demonstrate medieval superstition and beliefs concerning witchcraft, including Satan tempting a sleeping woman away from her husband's bed before terrorizing a group of monks. Also shown is a woman purchasing a love potion from a supposed witch named Karna in order to seduce a monk, and a supposed witch named Apelone dreaming of waking up in a castle, where Satan presents her with coins that she is unable to hold on to and festivities that she is unable to participate in.

Having a pet is a great way to meet new people and create bonds quickly, especially if you’re not too good at small talk.
