We're back! It's Revelation round 2! We're kicking off this phase of our journey through the Book of Revelation with Chapter 8. The 7th seal is finally broken, and all of heaven can now see what's written on the scroll. It's the ultimate plan of God to exact judgment on - and bring redemption to the world! It is so dramatic and terrifying that a hush falls over the universe. There is silence in heaven for half an hour! An angel with a censer mixes much incense with the prayers of the saints and brings it to the altar. Then - in dramatic fashion - he fills it with fire and casts it to the earth! The plan is set in motion! There is no going back from here! 7 angels with 7 trumpets prepare to sound them! All heaven breaks loose! Hail - fire - a mountain uprooted and thrown into the sea! A great star falls from heaven! The water is turned to wormwood! A third of the sun moon and stars go away! Then there is an eagle with a message! He's flying in midheaven crying woe - woe - woe! His name was Jim Jones, and his "church" was the People's Temple. From his humble and twisted beginnings in Indiana to orchestrating the largest human massacre of its time in Guyana, this guy's rise to power and reign of terror is unprecedented and almost unfathomable! How did he coerce 900 people to follow him to a remote location in the jungle - set up a delusional commune - and then exercise such a level of mind control that they all committed "revolutionary suicide" by drinking cyanide-laced Flavor Ade? Eh - maybe - except for their assertion that Jesus is a created being, and He was created through a union of God the Father and His wife - and that the Holy Spirit is not the 3rd person of the Trinity, but the energy of God. In fact - to them, the Trinity doesn't exist! And - they have their own translation of the Bible, produced by scholars from their headquarters - The Watchtower. These scholars don't know Hebrew, Greek, or Aramaic. They just download it from the heavens! If something sounds sketchy to you, it does to us too! Come with us as we dig a little deeper!

What's up with the wackos in Waco? This story dominated the headlines in 1993. A huge compound - a strange cultic community led by a man who claims to be the Messiah - the Lamb of God - the one chosen to open and interpret the seven seals of Revelation! A search warrant - a siege - a 53-day standoff. A disaster of immense proportions! What did these people believe - and why such maniacal, unwavering devotion to a man who turned out to be sketch - in every sense? Was the government justified in what they did?
