Yolanda Whittington is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 25 years of mental health experience providing individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy to individuals and groups experiencing mild to chronic, severe persistent mental illness. She specializes in serving Black/African American Transitional Age Youth (18 to 25), Adults, (26 to 59) and Older Adults 60 Plus experience depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, and drug and alcohol addiction. She specializes in serving women and girls who have been impacted by trauma including but not limited to adverse childhood events including sexual molestation, sexual assault, rape, domestic and intimate partner violence, victims of crime, commercial sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, incarceration, and homelessness. Yolanda Whittington also specializes in serving elders and vulnerable seniors at risk of abuse, neglect, and grave disability by successfully coordinating the long-term care needs of aging adults to live a life of independence. She is committed to helping black women and girls live a life of abundance, fulfillment and joy in the midst of living and coping with structural, institutional, systemic racism, economic inequalities, social injustices, and health disparities.
She currently serves as the founder and Chief Executive Officer of SISTAHFRIENDS Women's Counseling and Eldercare Management. SISTAHFRIENDS is a boutique, licensed mental health clinical practice committed to the emotional and psychological wellness of Black Women. Their mission is to help Black Women and Girls attain and sustain mental health through therapy, counseling, and emotional support in order to live a life of abundance, fulfillment, and joy by ensuring they are connected to critical community resources that promote self-care, emotional, psychological, behavioral, physical and spiritual health and wellness throughout their journey in life.
