Host Chhandomay Mandal speaks with Matthew Hegarty, October winner of the JFXStudio Challenge, about JavaFX technology. Matthew created Video Poker in JavaFX with a total of just 2,994 characters. Contest judge and organizer Josh Marinacci said of the application: “I simply can't believe it was done in only 3000 characters.”

Mark is a software architect working in the energy business, and has years of experience in Java programming, with a recent focus on Web 2.0 and Rich Internet Application development.

Host Maijaliisa Burkert talks with with Mambo Banda, a 22-year-old software engineering student and developer about JavaFX 1.2.



Mambo is originally from Zambia and is currently in his final year at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont.

Host Chhandomay Mandal and guest Dean Iverson talk about JavaFX 1.2 as well as Dean's new book, Pro JavaFX Platform.


Dean has been writing software professionally for more than 15 years. He is currently employed by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute where he is a senior researcher and rich client application developer. He also has a small software consultancy called Pleasing Software Solutions which he co-founded with his wife.

Chinmay Garde is a student at Manipal in his final year. He is passionate about RIA and mobile development and discusses JavaFX with host Maijaliisa Burkert.

Stephen Chin, talks with host Chhandomay Mandal about the JavaFX platform and the new 1.2 release.
