This week, we’ll be revisiting our conversation with Dr. Kenon Brown, an associate professor in Advertising and Public Relations, and he’ll be telling us more about the research he does in sports communication. This is a really fun conversation we had during a time when the sports world had come to a halt, we were witnessing social unrest and injustice all over the country, and at the time of this conversation, many athletes were speaking out about it all. In this episode, we revisit our conversation with Dr. Scott Parrott, an associate professor in Journalism & Creative Media. Dr. Darrin Griffin, associate professor, in the Department of Communication Studies talks about a class he talk about bar-b-que (who knew?) and then discusses the very important research he does as it relates to communication with deaf communities.  If you think about it, when you hear a tornado siren go off or a fire alarm go off, not all of those mechanisms are designed in a way to help individuals with hearing loss. Dr. Griffin has done research, much of it funded, to help us better understand the challenges and potential solutions to this real-world problem.
