As folks of color, it's not uncommon for us to start our businesses because we hit (racist) walls in the corporate world.
The only problem?
Most of the time…we start our businesses being that same shitty boss we tried to escape.
In today's episode, I'll be sharing the ultimate key to being loud, being real, and being seen:
Doing it your own damn way.
(Seriously, don't even do mine!)
This is why, when I recorded today's episode of the Revolutionary Rising Podcast, I gave it a bold name:
The Most Important Episode
Because the truth is, nothing else I've told you throughout this season is going to matter if you're still accidentally implementing it through this white supremacist, patriarchal lens.
I'll also be talking about how you:

When I met Junielle, she went by "Elle"...
…because, you guessed it – she felt like her name was "too difficult."
But lately, she's been reclaiming her voice…
…and as she's reclaimed her voice, she's reclaimed her name.
During this episode, we talked about so much, like:
I love Junielle so much – and if you love me, I think you'll adore this episode with her, too.
About Junielle:
She inspires. She uplifts. She is the hype woman to have in your corner. Junielle is a speaker and the founder of the Joy Calendar, a community for millennial women to have fun and schedule more joy in their lives.
Weaving her mindset knowledge with her desire to find her authentic self in a world that praises conformity, Junielle is passionate about prioritizing her well-being while encouraging others to do the same.
Her circle is grateful for her playful energy, her calm presence and her unwavering commitment to helping women live their best, bold and liberated lives.
When she's not coming up with fun ways to infuse more joy in her community's lives, you'll often find her tutoring high school students, or on Instagram, dancing to her favorite tunes.

As a result of "cancel culture," you might feel pretty damned unsafe showing up boldly in these streets, because you can't afford to say the wrong thing and have it impact your finances.
I used to be terrified that when I spoke up as an entrepreneur and leader, I'd be canceled or called out, too.
But I'm over that drama now.

"Anything that doesn't affirm you needs to be avoided like the plague"
Today, we're talking about how Dalia went from shut down to being more visible than most folks could dream of.
(And feeling safe being that visible, too!)
In this episode, Dalia and I discussed:
The racist af roots of diet culture (this might surprise you! It surprised me!)
About Dalia:
Dalia Kinsey is a queer Black Registered Dietitian, keynote speaker, the creator of the Body Liberation for All podcast, and author of Decolonizing Wellness: A QTBIPOC-Centered Guide to Escape the Diet Trap, Heal Your Self-Image, and Achieve Body Liberation. On a mission to spread joy, reduce suffering, and eliminate health disparities in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community, Dalia rejects diet culture and teaches people to use nutrition as a self-care and personal empowerment tool to counter the damage of systemic oppression. Dalia works at the intersection of holistic wellness and social justice, continually creating wellness tools and resources that center the most vulnerable, individuals that hold multiple marginalized identities. If you want to truly be loud, be real, and be seen - you've gotta stop focusing on the folks who don't care and instead Allow In The Good.
Because quite simply focusing on the negative and bad experiences 100% kills your ability to actually be loud, real and seen!
You're not alone in this sib, you never are. So listen in!

When Eleanor and I met, Eleanor was running a profitable, successful financial consulting business and tbh, she was miserable.
She was still working with (white dude) clients she hated…
…working all hours of the day and night…
…and was putting her passion projects to the side for what was more urgent and important.
Today, her business couldn't look any more different, and it's safe to say that she has fully reclaimed it.
Now, she integrated her passions INTO her business (she does financial coaching for women of color, too!)
In this episode, Eleanor and I talk about:
About Eleanor:
Eleanor Victorioso is a transformational life & money coach and CPA who lives in Los Angeles, CA with her partner and two children. She helps women develop a healthy relationship with money to make more intentional and guided financial decisions. She has a 4 part framework of helping her clients: Liberate from their money stories, Activate their money desires, Engage with those desires through goal setting strategies, and Commit to taking realistic and loving action to achieve those goals.
She recently transitioned her career from primarily working with early-stage VC-funded startups to coaching individuals. Her passion lies in helping women connect with themselves and their ancestors to understand their inherent beauty and unique gifts. She believes that love, connection, and spiritual partnering are the ways that she can support women through this journey along with her financial experience.

I swear no one's really talking about today's topic but you already know that I hate following the norm so I'm talking about it.
I know you looked at today's episode title and said wtf, I care about people, and I'm sure you do but I swear I didn't mean it as you read it!
