  • Tuesday Recap: Cannon Remains Scarlet Red, but Voleyball Team Wins
Nevada football had their most important game of the season this past weekend, but the crowd at Mackay Stadium went home disappointed.
The Pack went head-to-head against the UNLV Rebels on Saturday afternoon.
Different opponent but same result for UNR football as they lost to the Rebels by a score of 45 to 27.
UNLV took the lead early and the game was never in doubt for the Rebels.
They were up 28 to 7 at halftime and added to their lead with a touchdown in the opening minute of the second half.
The Fremont Cannon will remain scarlet red and reside in southern Nevada for at least one more year.
This extends the longest active losing streak in all of college football. The Wolf Pack have now dropped 16 straight games dating back to last year
In better news, Nevada women’s volleyball went 2-0 over the weekend. They handled business against UNLV on Thursday before racking up another win on Saturday over San Diego State.
    Reporting by Trey Kroll.
