19th century baseball legend is the motivation behind a new bar and restaurant in small town Keithsburg, Illinois.
Bid’s Bar & Grill is named in honor of John “Bid” McPhee, who learned to play baseball in the Mississippi River town in the 1800’s. McPhee went on to have a stellar career for the Cincinnati Red Stockings from 1882 to 1899 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
