Largest US Egg Producer Cal-Maine Under DOJ Price Investigation

Cal-Maine Foods Inc., the nation’s largest egg producer,, on Tuesday acknowledged that it is being investigated by the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division over the national increase in egg prices.

The brief admission in its newest financial report made headlines and the company’s shares fell by about 4 percent in after-hours trading.

“In March 2025, the Company received a civil investigative demand in connection with a widely publicized investigation by the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice into the causes behind nationwide increases in egg prices,” Cal-Maine said in its financial report for its third quarter on Tuesday. “The Company is cooperating with the investigation.”

Cal-Maine also announced that it signed an agreement before the end of the third quarter to acquire Echo Lake Foods for about $258 million.

President Trump Wallops China with Massive de minimis Tariff Increases – Mail Order Product Costs from China Will Skyrocket

Within the Executive Order modifying the April 2nd global reciprocal tariffs [SEE HERE] section #4, we note a massive increase in the duty fees for mailed products from China formerly shipped under ‘de minimis’ rules.

REMINDER:

Congress in 2015 then raised the de minimis threshold from $200 to $800.

On April 2nd, as part of the global trade reset and tariff structure, President Trump revoked authorization for Chinese goods to transfer to the USA using the de minimis rule. The de minimis exemption was cancelled for all products coming out of China. The rule change only targeted China and Chinese shippers. No one else. [XO HERE]

Yesterday, as part of the modification to Executive Order #14257, President Trump has increased the baseline tariff for product mailed from China [de minimis tariff] from 30 90 percent to 120%.

Mailed products from China now face a 120% tariff. Additionally, minimum tariff amounts increased from $75 to $100 effective May 1st, and from $150 to $2oo effective June 1st. [See Section #4]

Example: If you order a $20 shirt from China effective June 1st, you will pay $220. $20 for the shirt, and $200 minimum tariff.

There is no way Chinese E-Commerce can survive this level of tariff/duty fees.

♦ SUBVERSION – The only way for the Chinese e-commerce to maneuver this, would be to extend the delivery times and transship through alternate mail and distribution centers, in other countries. Example, mail your $20 shirt to (Vietnam or Mexico or Canada) and have a distribution center then repackage and mail it to the USA. Or, far less likely, the Chinese e-commerce company can set up manufacturing centers in the 3rd party country (Vietnam, or Mexico or Canada) and make it there, not in China (not very likely at all).

President Trump is setting up bilateral free trade agreements (FTAs) with each of the nations that China might attempt to use as a transshipping hub. Within those pending FTAs, there will certainly be no transshipping allowed, and trade sanctions in the FTAs as punitive punishment if they did it.

Keep watching this mail-order pressure point, because it’s likely to be more substantive -albeit less visible- than the manufacturing tariffs applied toward China directly.

Fast-forward to 2025: DOGE is uncovering government waste and mismanagement and has set its sights on Fort Knox. The US Treasury declared any audit a breach of national security. A true audit of Fort Knox, not including the NY Fed, would take 18-24 months and require 44,000 hours.

Here’s the thing–no nation completely audits its gold holdings. The UAE, for example, implemented mandatory annual audits but only examined 10-20% of its holdings. There is limited transparency as their audits are classified, but they do permit third-party audits and follow London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) standards. Switzerland also follows LBMA standards and conducts regular audits, but auditors only check seals as there is no physical count. Switzerland is far more transparent about its auditing process, but again, they are only looking at a small percentage of overall holdings and not weighing or physically assessing the gold. Any nation could point the finger at another and question the validity of its stockpile.

As for US gold holdings, there have not been any official sales. If anything is missing, then that means it was stolen. However, the media is honing in on the US without understanding that no foreign nation conducts a full audit of their gold holdings. It all comes down to trust in the government, not only the current administration but every administration that has come to pass.

South Korea Fires Warning Shots at North Korean Troops Crossing the Demilitarized Zone

South Korea’s military fired warning shots after approximately 10 North Korean soldiers crossed the military demarcation line within the Demilitarized Zone.

The Demilitarized Zone is a 155-mile-long, heavily fortified border separating the two Koreas. It has barbed wire, mines, and troops on both sides.

The incident happened on Tuesday at approximately 5 p.m. local time in the eastern section of the DMZ, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The North Korean troops, some armed, entered South Korean territory just briefly before returning to the northern side of the border.

South Korea’s military responded by issuing a warning broadcast and discharging warning shots, after which the soldiers withdrew.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts gave Trump another win and allowed him to fire Biden holdovers serving on the Labor Board and Merit Systems Protection Board.

Justice Roberts granted a stay on the lower court’s order reinstating the Biden holdovers. Robert ordered Gwynne Wilcox and Cathy Harris to respond by next Tuesday.

Last month US District Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, ruled Trump’s firing of Gwynne Wilcox was unlawful.

The three judge panel on the DC Circuit Court: Henderson (George W. Bush appointee), Millett (Obama appointee), and Walker (Trump appointee) sided with President Trump on Friday in a 2-1 vote and ordered the DOJ motions for stay be granted.

However, Wilcox asked the court’s entire slate of judges to weigh in (en banc) and the court voted 7-4 to reinstate her.

BREAKING: Appeals Court Clears the Way For President Trump to Fire Thousands of Probationary Workers

A federal appeals court on Wednesday cleared the way for President Trump to fire thousands of probationary workers across 18 federal agencies.

The Virginia-based Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision granted the Trump Administration a motion for a stay of the preliminary injunction pending appeal.

The three-judge panel included: Allison Rushing (Trump), Harvie Wilkinson (Reagan) and DeAndrea Benjamin (Biden).

“The Supreme Court has stayed a similar preliminary injunction issued by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California,” the judge wrote citing Tuesday’s decision from the Supreme Court in a separate case.

The Biden appointee dissented.

A federal judge last month ordered the Trump Administration to rehire approximately 20,000 probationary workers across 18 different agencies.

This comes after the Supreme Court vacated Judge James Boasberg’s orders barring the Trump Administration’s removals of Venezuelan gang members under the Alien Enemies Act. They ruled that Boasberg, as a single district court judge, lacked jurisdiction to dictate the President’s policy.

In 2018 The New York Times ran an op-ed by an “Anonymous” author described as a senior member of the Trump Administration who was covertly working to sabotage the President.

The author of the NY Times ‘resistance’ op-ed also penned an anti-Trump tell all book titled, “A Warning.”

“An unprecedented behind-the-scenes portrait of the Trump presidency from the anonymous senior official whose first words of warning about the president rocked the nation’s capital,” the description of the book states.

It turns out “Anonymous” was not a senior official, rather he was a lower level DHS official who donated to Barack Obama.

In 2020, Miles Taylor outed himself as “Anonymous” in a Medium post.

President Trump Orders DOJ Investigation into Law Firm Representing Dominion in 2020 Election Defamation Cases

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed a sweeping executive order launching a federal investigation and crackdown on the law firm Susman Godfrey LLP, the legal powerhouse behind Dominion Voting Systems’ highly publicized 2020 election defamation lawsuits—including its $787.5 million settlement from Fox News.

The firm is also pursuing defamation cases against other Trump allies, including Rudy Giuliani and Mike Lindell.

The new directive orders the Department of Justice, the Office of Management and Budget, and intelligence agencies to immediately initiate a full-scale investigation into Susman Godfrey, citing a pattern of “egregious conduct, racial discrimination, and weaponization of the legal system” against political opponents and the American public.

The 6-section executive order makes clear that Susman Godfrey is no longer welcome in the halls of power:

Section 1 denounces the firm for pushing radical “diversity, equity, and inclusion” policies — including programs that offer jobs and scholarships based solely on race — and declares these practices “un-American and unlawful.”

Section 2 calls for the suspension of security clearances held by Susman employees and ends the firm’s access to government resources and classified spaces.

Section 3 orders a freeze and review of all federal contracts involving Susman or its affiliates, urging agencies to cancel deals where possible.

Section 4 ties the move to broader efforts to dismantle race-based hiring practices in federal contracting and lawfare against conservatives.

Section 5 prohibits Susman personnel from entering federal buildings or being hired by the U.S. government without high-level waivers.

Section 6 underscores that this order must be interpreted in a way that defends American national security and respects existing law.

“This is about rooting out law firms that use our justice system as a political weapon,” said White House staff secretary Will Scharf. “Susman Godfrey has made millions helping silence questions about the 2020 election. That ends now.”

Susman Godfrey is now the sixth firm to face consequences under Trump’s campaign to dismantle politically weaponized legal firms. Previous targets include:

Covington & Burling — for representing Hunter Biden and lobbying on behalf of Chinese tech firms.

Perkins Coie — Hillary Clinton’s go-to firm and architect of the Steele Dossier hoax.

Paul Weiss, Jenner & Block, and WilmerHale — major players in shielding corporate and political elites from accountability.
