Vision Sunday
Speaker: Rev. Ho-Ming Tsui
Scripture: John 15:1-8
1985: “We are a church for the unchurched.”
2020: “We exist to build up the whole person for the whole world.”
We exist to help you:
Center your life around God (Worship)
Connect with other believers (Fellowship)
Cultivate spiritual maturity (Discipleship)
Contribute something back (Ministry)
Carry Out God’s message (Mission)
How do we make sure RHCCC is a healthy, growing, vibrant tree?
1. Remember on our roots (v. 1)
What do roots represent in our church? The grace of God unfolding in the story of our church.
2. Prune and Strengthen the branches (v.2-3)
What needs lifting up in your life?
In every one of these branches, you have remove inhibitors that are stopping (or slowing) your growth + utilizing catalysts to induce (or increase) it:
A. Re-prioritize your Discipleship: Commit to growing in Christ
Growth inhibitor: Immaturity
Catalyst: Develop a personal growth plan
B. Re-building your Relationships: Commit to pouring you life into others
Growth inhibitor: Fear
Catalyst: Be part of a family
C. Re-energize your Ministry: Commit to serving the people here with your gifts
Growth inhibitor: Apathy
Catalyst: Find a meaningful ministry
3. Bear fruit in abundance (v. 4-8)
What does Jesus mean by fruit? (1) Inward transformation + (2) Outward multiplication.
Conclusion: What is our destiny? A diverse, robust, healthy orchard that is both beautiful in and helpful for our city.
