Much like the disciples were working out the plans and purposes of Jesus after His resurrection so can married couples follow Jesus as disciples and worship together whilst working out His mission.

We can be in wonder of the cross because we understand the huge significance of what Jesus has done for us there. Jesus was rejected so that we don't have to be. Jesus is the true foundation and the ultimate plan of God.

Owen encourages us to make more of Jesus, to lose apathy and compartmentalised familiarity. Is Jesus the thing you cannot lose from your life? Would you be satisfied with a heaven of all your physical, emotional pleasures without sickness, conflict and pain without Jesus...? Or only be satisfied if Jesus is there?
