Episode 5, “Special Interests,” of The Real Housewives of D.C. kicks the drama up a notch. What starts as a peaceful vineyard retreat ends in chaos when Tareq Salahi accuses Mary Amons’s daughter, Lolly, of being involved in stealing his charity’s $90,000 car and $25,000-worth of polo equipment. The allegation of grand theft auto (and more) over social media posts—and Tareq’s claim that the FBI is involved—shocks everyone at the dinner table. 

Meanwhile, Cat Ommanney gets contentious with Republican lobbyist Edwina Rogers, especially over health-care politics and Cat’s mounting medical bills. When Edwina hosts an insider Republican party, Cat decides to make a splash—showing up dressed as Sarah Palin, wig and all—turning the event into another spectacle. 

Through the fallout, viewers see loyalties shift. Stacie and her husband Jason are bewildered by Tareq’s public accusation. Mary is torn between protecting her daughter and getting to the truth. And as Cat’s provocative choice at the party reverberates, tensions among all the women rise. By the end, questions of credibility, social standing, and what counts as influence in D.C. become central.
