This Roots is a collaboration between the RHS and the BBC as they celebrate their partnership at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Ahead of RHS Chelsea and the wonderful coverage across BBC 1 and BBC 2 beginning on Sunday 17 May, the RHS and BBC have joined forces to bring you this Roots special with the one and only Monty Don in his incredible garden at Longmeadow.

RHS Roots Episode 3 is here! Host Jo Whiley spends some time with national treasure Dame Judi Dench in her garden, to chat about how all the plants and trees there bring her solace and remind her of loved ones no longer with us.

Dame Judi also shares a couple of her favourite Shakespeare's sonnets featuring plants and nature, and is joined by an old friend, Tony Kirkham, who presents her with an RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit tree to add to her already impressive collection.

The first in the ongoing series features Richard E Grant from his South West London home. A keen perfumer Richard introduces his evergreen garden inspired by a childhood in Eswatini and set around old set props from multiple blockbuster films and an unmissable sculpture of his childhood idol.

Serving as a space for multiple generations of the family to relax and play the garden has hosted weddings and all-night A-list parties.
