What a stellar year 🕺 🎶 🪩
In true Ricco Radio style, I thought I'd round up my year with musical highlights – ones that have made be smile from ear-to-ear, dance until sunrise, given me goosebumps and made me scream/sing so loudly. I've mixed all these tracks together, so go on, treat yourself and have a listen – the link is in my bio ofc 😉
1. 'Life' was my biggest tune of 2024 and seeing Jamie XX in Victoria Park cemented it a spot in my fav tracks of this year once again. It started raining and he mixed in the track he sampled 'House of Rising Sun' ... a true heavenly moment
2. The absolute energy of Caribou dropping his new track in Cardiff
3. This track is just excellent and I had it on repeat all year – Sam Ruffillo can do no wrong
4. ConMan came out for Jade at Glasto to play their new track 'Gossip' for the first time, and I haven't stopped playing it since
5. From the excellent label Toy Tonics, this is one of my most played tracks this year... when the base line and synths kick in together, I always run a bit faster
6. This track from Tove Lo & SG Lewis was already absolute 🔥 for me, but then Crackazat dropped it in the best club on earth, NYC Downlow and it was incredible
7. Discovered a French electro genius called Myd on the Glasto lineup and LOVED him so much I saw him three more times this year
8. Caught Laurence Guy as the support act for Justice at Ally Pally. Then he decided to play a surprise gig down the road – this tune gives me so much energy
9. Simply found this on my Apple Music algorithm and it just makes me smile so much
10. Watching Parcels with mates as the sun was setting in the West Holts field easily makes the top musical moments of my life
11. Robyn releasing her new track was not what I expected to happen this year. And what a track. Hopefully I get to hear this live next year
12. Charli xcx at Glasto was the absolute right choice for the crazy clashy Saturday night. Even my brother who was sceptical turned to me during 'Von Dutch' and said "this is sick"
13. Shallow End Bazza at APE was absolute goosebumps material. Wow
