Rice Road Church of Christ - Wednesday Night Bible Study Audio Recordings

As opposed to the general idea that many people have about fighting those who fight with you, Jesus instead tells His listeners to love their enemies.  How do we do good to those who do us evil?  How is this in similar fashion as God the Father?  What does this look like to the rest of the world?  We talk about these things in our study on the last portion of Matthew chapters 5. matthew_5_4348.mp3File Size: 37898 kbFile Type: mp3Download File matthew_5.43 [...]

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.  This was the standard of Old Testament law.  How would this change for those that would live under the teachings that Jesus is emphasizing?  We explore these ideas in our study today! matt_538-42.mp3File Size: 41338 kbFile Type: mp3Download File matthew_5.38-42.pdfFile Size: 42 kbFile Type: pdfDownload File [...]

Swearing or making an oath, is something that we are very familiar with in a court of law.  We are familiar with the idea of making promises and agreements.  In this study we will look at what the guidelines are for a Christian to make such affirmations in their lives. matthew_5.33-37_-_12_11_19_5.28_pm.mp3File Size: 62919 kbFile Type: mp3Download File matthew_5.33-37.pagesFile Size: 116 kbFile Type: pagesDownload File [...]

Our society has been decimated and desensitized due to the open acceptance of lusting uncontrollably and unashamedly after those that we find attractive.  Most see nothing wrong with this behavior and truly believe that it is normal and without consequence.  Does Jesus teach that this is true during his sermon?  That is what our study will focus on this week. matthew_5-27.30_-_11_13_19_10.09_am.mp3File Size: 58176 kbFile Type: mp3Download File matthew_5.27-30. How good are we at controlling our hate and anger?  You may say, "Well, it's not like I'm killing anyone!"  Is that good enough in the eyes of Jesus?  That is what we discuss in our study this week. matthew_5._21-26.pdfFile Size: 42 kbFile Type: pdfDownload File matthew_5.21-26_-_11_13_19_10.33_am.mp3File Size: 59995 kbFile Type: mp3Download File [...]

So simple, and yet so profound.  Ye are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.  What should that mean to you and me today?  What did it mean to those that were hearing it then?  We look at these things in our study of this portion of Jesus' sermon on the mount. matt_513-16.mp3r.mp3File Size: 33973 kbFile Type: mp3Download File matthew_5.13-16.pdfFile Size: 40 kbFile Type: pdfDownload File [...]
