Ricercar I: lórellinyalien-lindalë (2007) is Quenya Elvish for "song of memory and emotion" but it is also about the joy of discovering a new instrument, in my case, the viola da gamba. I was enraptured by its tones and this song was a result of that. It also coincided with my brief obsession with early music cello.
