Meet Jill McPherson, a dedicated advocate for holistic health and personal empowerment. Through her own journey of physical healing, Jill uncovered the profound influence of the mind on overall well-being, transitioning from feeling like a victim of circumstances to realizing her potential as a creator of her life.
With over 25 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and a mother of four, Jill recognized the importance of addressing children's social and emotional needs. She became very aware that her personal growth was directly related to her ability to teach her students, work effectively with colleagues as well as be more effective as a mother and wife.
Jill discovered and became immersed in Nonviolent Communication, integrating its principles into her roles as a teacher, counsellor, and family member. In 2022, she joined the Youth Wellness Network as a workshop facilitator, bringing mental health and communication workshops in high schools in the Greater Toronto Area.
Currently, Jill is expanding her reach into the corporate realm, offering communication workshops to foster psychologically safe and cost effective workplaces. With her blend of experience, compassion, and dedication, Jill McPherson continues to inspire and empower others on their journey towards holistic well-being and personal fulfillment.

For episode 55 I connect with Jeffrey and Tammy to talk about The Voyageur 200! It is a full day, 60, 100 or 200 km gravel cycling adventure in and around North Bay Ontario. You will see beautiful lakes and streams, trees, rocks and with some luck some amazing wildlife.
The ride is organized by local cyclist and stroke survivor, Jeff Miller in partnership with Discovery Routes and a community of volunteers eager to see the ride grow. Its mission in supporting the NBRHCF is to raise awareness around a heart and stroke disorder called Aphasia (www.aphasia.ca) through a love of bikes and endurance sport. With the first year a resounding success, the organizers are aiming high, hoping to attract over 150 riders to this year’s event with a set fundraising goal of $6000.
The team has been working hard this year to create the best finish line experience around. All participants finish with a beautiful edible medal provided by The Green Store North Bay. Then continue enjoying your day with a BBQ provided by United Rental and a cold beer by Gateway City Brewery. You can cheer on your fellow participants at the Four Season Club on Corbeil Road while enjoying live entertainment all afternoon. Anyone that wants to come join the fun can feast at the BBQ for a donation to the NBRHCF and cash bar.
For registration, technical requirements and sponsorship opportunities go to the race website at https://thevoyageur200.ca/ on Facebook
@thevoyageur200 and Instagram @the.voyageur200.
Volunteers are needed for the day of the race and sign up on the website.

For episode 54 I connect with Kelsey who gave me goosebumps several times during our conversation because of her deep insights, fun personality, honesty and totally brilliant mind. She believe the future is so bright, we'll have to wear shades. 😎
“My expertise is taking complex ideas, and turning them into beloved brands that speak for themselves. I use design and communication to open hearts and minds.
My agency services premiere lifestyle clients, events, and tech startups with digital ad campaigns. We've spent millions on behalf of clients, and made 10s of millions for clients. All online.
We've worked with brands like Coca-Cola, The Grammys, Tesla, Blockworks, TIFF, the United Nations, Darden, To the Stars (Tom Delonge's entertainment co), Angels & Airwaves, Huha, Paume, the Woobles, Fable Home, Blume, bluboho, Coal & Canary, the Cross Design, Blockworks, Boss Beauties, The Arrivals, Flutter, Are You Am I, Everyday Sunday, Wildcraft, ANACT and Hero Health.
I spent most of my career working on some of the world’s most recognizable brands in house (L'Oreal, Red Bull, Revlon) developing my marketing mind and business acumen. In 2014, I realized these skills were desperately needed in the startup world.
I got very involved in the Silicon Valley scene and saw the decentralization of this startup community as an opportunity to open up my own boutique marketing agency to service this market.
A few of my big breaks have come from investing my time and energy into startup founders who had big marketing needs without big marketing budgets.
I'm an Entrepreneur, Speaker & Activist. I found my footing on the global stage through my work in the tech sector, particularly in #AI, #Blockchain and #Cryptocurrency projects around the world.
Regarded as a female pioneer in the blockchain & AI space, I work closely with the United Nation's partnership office establishing programs between the private sector, global governments and NGOs to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals with a primary focus on achieving SDG #5, Gender Equality.
My life goal is to make an impact on this planet by engaging the world's biggest brands and tech companies to put real business dollars in their own enterprises towards innovation that fuels collective good.”

In episode 53 I speak to Gerry Gooderham a talented photographer based in Temagami, Ontario. His work is on display at 176 Lakeshore Drive in North Bay’s NOVAH Gallery until early September.
“I am a photographer, I see light, angles and shapes. The landscape and night are my canvas, light is my paint, the camera is my brush...Imagination limitless!
My Goal is to find a unique and beautiful wilderness image and to photograph it. Common to all of my work is the interplay of light, angles, and shapes, look closer, move in, and focus. When I photograph people, I see their eyes, their face, their mood ; to capture the spirit of the country in the eyes of someone who lives here, that is completion.”

In episode 49, I talk with Michael Couchie and Jennifer Allison about ‘ANOTHER WAY HOME’, the Solo Exhibition opening in North Bay on Friday, May 24th at the WKP Kennedy Gallery celebrating five decades of artistic mastery blending traditional and digital techniques to craft a one-of-a-kind immersive experience for all.
" As an Anishnabe person there’s so much reflected in who I am in my work, but it’s not based on specific indigenous mythology. I am a digital and multimedia artist who works with a variety of mediums. The style of my most recent work is inspired by Woodlands aesthetic.
People have asked, “What do you think the audience sees when they look at your work?”
My art is about design, and what I’m doing with colour. The design has to look good to me. I tell people the design has to satisfy what I’m attempting at the time. It satisfies something within me, and to define and explain this can be difficult sometimes. My goal could change tomorrow or a year from now. It’s ever changing.
At the present time, I am drawing on a computer tablet and then manipulate the image with a computer software. As I go along, I am able to control what I’m doing to a certain degree. I’s not happenstance; I know how my artwork will react to the manipulation of the software.
My process of creating is similar to a math problem. How do I put A and B together to make C?
Thinking abstractly drives me in my process, and sometimes I know what I am trying to achieve, but there is also a point in which I start drawing and I let it go from there.
I create art that excites me, sometimes people view my work and they’re not as excited as I am, but what I learned in the process of art making isn’t lost on me. It’s up to my audience to interpret and decide what thy think of the final product.
There are many possibilities working with the digital process. The artwork can be printed in a variety of formats and some as large as a billboard, but at the end of the day, I think my work is unique because it comes from inside myself.” - Michael Couchie
