Rise Racing in a new trail race company in Texas started by Rob Goyen. He has been in the sport of trail running since 2011. Rob has race directed over 100 races in the state of Texas including SkyRunning Races, 200 milers, Multi Day Events and Multiple National Championship Races. I helped to create the Houston Area Trail Runners in 2012. He owned Trail Racing over Texas from 2014 to 2022. Rob created the iconic races like Brazos Bend 100, Habanero Hundred, Franklin mountain trail run, Coyote trail run, Paris pair and many others.

BPN trail races are fixed in my opinion. They pick a few from a lottery then add their elite runners to the race. It is more a BPN marketing event. It is unfortunate since Texas needs more new ultra events for the large ultra running market. The Bare ranch doesn't have state park or Forrest service guidelines so it could have big races with 500-1000 runners. It would help the brand even more than the current format which is just outputing videos for it's running influencers.
