8 May. Still here.
Every door is locked. Harker is a guest who cannot leave, so he starts opening the rooms he was told to stay out of.

5 May. The castle.
Harker's host is courteous, well read, and very curious about a house for sale in England. He asks careful questions late into the night, and he is gone before the sun comes up.
There are no servants. There are no mirrors. Harker writes it all down — and then he cuts himself shaving.

Jonathan Harker, a young solicitor from Exeter, is travelling east to close a property sale for a nobleman he has never met. The locals cross themselves when they hear where he is going. One woman presses a crucifix into his hand and begs him not to go.
By nightfall he is in a coach climbing the Borgo Pass. The wolves are close. Something is waiting at the top.

Dracula was told in letters.
Diary entries, telegrams, a ship's log, a doctor's phonograph recordings. Bram Stoker built the whole novel out of documents people wrote while the horror was still happening to them. So we are performing it that way: a full cast, every letter read in the voice of the person who wrote it, with sound design built for headphones and a dark room.
Thirty seconds. Headphones on, lights down.
Chapters 1 to 3 arrive Monday, 5 October. A new chapter twice a week after that.
