Rick Brown

From being born into African royalty to losing everything and growing up on the mean streets of the Bronx, Remi Adeleke's story reads like a movie script. He always knew he wanted to do something important with his life, and he ultimately did just that, becoming a Navy SEAL and then breaking into the world of acting and writing.

David Eubank joins Rick Brown to talk about the Free Burma Rangers and how doing all things with love is paramount. Don't miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you'll be encouraged!

What’s the difference between justice and revenge? Is it really possible to love your enemy? David Eubank says that the answer lies beyond philosophy and religion. Only the power of Jesus can transform a human heart and cause love to the seeming unlovely. “Real love is never crazy,” David says. Once you recognize that every person is created in God’s image, you come to see the intrinsic value of human life.

David Eubank, founder of Free Burma Rangers (FBR), a multi-ethnic humanitarian service movement working to bring help, hope, and love to people in the conflict areas of Burma, Iraq, and Sudan.

David's jaw-dropping stories blew us away!

Join David Eubank, Founder and leader of Free Burma Rangers, and Pastor Rick Brown as they discuss courage, faith and risk behind enemy lines.

His entire life demonstrates what true unconditional love is – and what faith without fear looks like when it’s lived out.

From taking his family to the front lines of some of the most dangerous wars to help the oppressed to witnessing the death of one of his closest friends.

His stories will bring you to tears and his passion for Jesus will ignite a fire within your heart.

Author David Eubank shares the compelling true story of learning the difference between justice and revenge and loving others at all costs, with his new book Do This for Love.

Eubank, a former member of U.S. Army Special Forces and a Ranger officer, is the founder of the Free Burma Rangers (FBR).

Let's dive into 1 Corinthians 1:10-31 with Rick. Don't miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you'll be encouraged!

This teaching is from our series Anchored in God’s Word: A Study with Rick Brown from Godspeak Church in Thousand Oaks, California.

In this message, you'll discover three remarkable insights –

1. God’s Mess – 1 Corinthians 1:10-17

10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.

12 Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.”

13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you?

Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,

15 lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name.

16 Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas.

Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other.

17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel,

not with wisdom of words,

lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

2. God’s Method – 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,

but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,

And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 For since, in the wisdom of God,

the world through wisdom did not know God,

it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;

23 but we preach Christ crucified,

to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks,

Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men,

and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

3. God’s Minister – 1 Corinthians 1:26-31

26 For you see your calling, brethren,

that not many wise according to the flesh,

not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world

to put to shame the things which are mighty;

28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus,

who became for us wisdom from God

and righteousness and sanctification and redemption

31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

What does the Bible say about renewing your mind?

Let's dive into Romans 12 with Rick. Don't miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you'll be encouraged!

This teaching is from our series Anchored in God’s Word: A Study with Rick from Godspeak Church in Thousand Oaks, California.

Let’s examine nine mindset shifts for a deeper purpose and renewal. It starts with us.

1. Present It...Your Body – Romans 12:1a

2. Reason It...Your Service – Romans 12:1b

3. Resist It...Your Culture – Romans 12:2a

4. Renew It...Your Mind – Romans 12:2b

5. Prove It...Your Reality – Romans 12:2c

6. Humble It... Your Opinion – Romans 12:3

7. Remember It... Your Diversity – Romans 12:4-5

8. Use It... Your Gifts – Romans 12:6-8

v6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us,

let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

v7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering;

he who teaches, in teaching;

v8 he who exhorts, in exhortation;

he who gives, with liberality;

he who leads, with diligence;

he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

9. Keep It... Real – Romans 12:9-21

Let's dive into "Groaning for Glory" with Rick in Romans 8:18–28. Don't miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you'll be encouraged!

Let’s examine some of the richest truths about present suffering and future glory.

This teaching is from our series Anchored in God’s Word: A Study with Rick Brown from Godspeak Church in Thousand Oaks, California.

1. The Glory – Romans 8:18

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time

are not worthy to be compared

with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

2. The Groaning – Romans 8:19-27

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation

eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,

but because of Him who subjected it in hope;

21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groans

and labors with birth pangs together until now.

23 Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit,

even we ourselves groan within ourselves,

eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope;

for why does one still hope for what he sees?

25 But if we hope for what we do not see,

we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.

For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought,

but the Spirit Himself makes intercession

for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,

because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

3. The Goodness – Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good

to those who love God,

to those who are the called according to His purpose.

2 Cor 4:17

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,

is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory

What is God talking to you about Faith alone?

Let's dive into "My Dad’s Faith" with Rick in Romans 4:1–25. Don't miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you'll be encouraged!

God offers us his wisdom and counsel, and we receive guidance through it. We can't expect to be guided primarily through circumstances, experiences or feelings, but to be guided through God's truth.

In this message, you'll discover the truth about the gospel truth.
