Rick Brown

What does the prodigal story teach us about God’s heart? Pastor Rick dissects each verse and bringing the message from Luke 15 into our everyday lives. There’s so much wisdom to learn from this parable. Rick also shares a few of his own childhood stories about his loving mom, who passed away from cancer on April 6, 2022.  Don’t miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you’ll be encouraged!

Rick Highlights these six truths:

1. The Lost Pharisees - Luke 15:1–3

2. The Lost Sheep - Luke 15:4–7

5. The Father’s Heart - Luke 15:21–24

6. The Lost Brother - Luke 15:25–32

Let’s pray for and celebrate every son or daughter who was lost but is found, dead but alive in the blood of Jesus Christ.

31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.” –Luke 15:31–32

Now, more than ever, we must anchor ourselves in the Word of God; it will provide us with a firm foundation in an uncertain culture. Rick reminds us to seek God in prayer, to open our Bibles to fill our hearts with His truth, and to look up to remind ourselves that God is with us.

What does any soul desire?

Rick Brown dives into four faith-stirring lessons we can learn from Luke 9:23-27 as we take a closer look at “The Desires of The Soul” in today’s message. Don’t miss this opportunity to listen in, friends. I know you’ll be encouraged!

1. The Cost of Our Desire - Luke 9:23

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

2. The Choice of Our Desire - Luke 9:24

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

3. The Consequence of Our Desire - Luke 9:25

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?

4. The Confidence of Our Desire - Luke 9:26

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.

Paul’s Example - Phil 3:8

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Now, more than ever, we must anchor ourselves in the Word of God; it will provide us with a firm foundation in an uncertain culture. Rick reminds us to seek God in prayer, to open our Bibles to fill our hearts with His truth, and to look up to remind ourselves that God is with us.

We are in the biggest spiritual battle of our lives for liberty! Liberty is not man's idea; it's God's idea: "...and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty" (2 Cor 3:17).

Let's dive into six faith-stirring lessons we can learn from Nehemiah. Pastor Rick brings to life Nehemiah 1 –3, and, like Nehemiah, prayer is the first step in the leadership journey.

Nehemiah was a government worker in a foreign administration—a high-ranking one, no doubt. A leader. A cupbearer to the King. Trusted and respected. Nehemiah is an excellent example of biblical leadership for us all. He faced an overwhelming task, many obstacles, and naysayers, and accomplished what seemed impossible through prayer, by leaning on God, and getting involved to make a difference.

America is still the freest, and the most prosperous country on earth. But for how long? That's up to us. Ronald Reagan famously stated, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction."

Now, more than ever, we must anchor ourselves in the Word of God; it will provide us with a firm foundation in an uncertain culture. Rick reminds us to seek God in prayer, to open our Bibles to fill our hearts with His truth, and to look up to remind ourselves that God is with us.

Rick Brown is LIVE with Kelly from Godspeak Church in Thousand Oaks, California.

Religious freedom is the first freedom outlined in the First Amendment of the Constitution, and for good reason: it is the foundational right that all others are built upon. And if this cornerstone freedom ever falls, all other freedoms would be at risk of tumbling as well. That’s why protecting and defending it is so important—because to fight for religious freedom is to fight for the future of all freedoms.

In the wake of 2020, hostility grew to an all-time high against churches, schools, and people of faith. Kelly documents personal stories of people winning to take back their rights.

He also has been featured in the National Law Journal, Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Times, The Washington Post, The L.A. Times, and many others[WE1] .
