In marketing, an algorithm on a person helps sellers target specific demographics and individuals, which is why they have created an algorithmic version of you in cyberspace. One of the crucial keys to building a ministry or business is the process of redefining yourself. If you don’t do this, you will lose your impact and relevancy. Your voice in the marketplace will not grow. The “this is how we have always done it” mantra only works in a static universe. We don’t live in that place, which is why you want to spend time and energy thinking about how to have the most impact in your sphere.

When recently doing a study on Moses, something grabbed my attention this time, and it wasn’t the usual question of how anyone can live off manna for so long. The first chapter of Exodus gives us a glimpse into the lives of a truly remarkable family, particularly the parents who trusted God in a country that did not. There is a practical application for all of us as we go through another election cycle.

Paul said, “to live is Christ.” In four syllables, he explained why and what for his earthly existence. Apart from asking the Lord to regenerate you, there is no more life-transforming statement you could make. Why was Paul living? Christ. What was his point of living? Christ. How do you explain your “why and what” for living on this planet?

When you think about your sanctification, what do you believe regarding your role in it? Are you beholding to passive or active obedience or both? Passive is sitting, soaking, and trusting while active is doing something with your faith. When suffering comes, is trusting God all you need? Or are there things you should do that flow from your affection for Christ?

The wedding day is not the best time to learn how to be a spouse. For too many young couples, they begin this way. Without prior training, they had to figure out how to get along with each other in the school of hard knocks. Some of them do not endure, which is why we chose to give our son three wives. If practice makes perfect, the assumption is that we could help him get close to what it means being a biblical husband—should that day come.
