I listened to a podcast from Bret Weinstein and his wife, Heather Heying, where they talked about what is happening to our country, how we got this way, and a possible path forward. I will not repeat what Brett and Heather said here but will borrow the three words they used and run them through a biblical filter, anticipating this will bring clarity and hope to you and a path forward in bringing healing to any family, church, or country.

Proverbs 26:4-5 says that I’m supposed to respond to a fool, and then it says that I’m not to respond to a fool. What is the difference? How am I to know when I should respond to a foolish person or move on with my life? There’s a lot of foolishness out there these days, and sometimes I’m not sure how to react to some folks.

How many ways are available from the Lord to help you grow up in Christ? Most folks would say things like the Bible, prayer, church, and close friends. They are correct. Those are four essential means of grace for maturing in Christlikeness. Here’s one more. Perhaps the Lord would permit sin in your life to rattle your cage for Jesus. What do you think about the redemptive purposes of sin?

If you don’t look out for number one, you will fall by the wayside. Don’t expect anyone else to do it for you. Thus, the question is, If you don’t do it, who will? Who is going to take care of you? Probably nobody, which is why your best course of action is to look out for yourself. Make you the number one priority in your life. It’s wise and biblically smart.

What do you want to be when you grow up? It’s not just a question for the high school graduate. I did not figure out what I wanted to be after I grew up until I was 38-years old. Should you wear a mask in public? Perhaps you do, and it’s a non-issue for you. Praise God. I’m sure you’re aware that many of your friends are not where you are. It never occurred to me write on this subject, but it has proven to be a paper-thin problem that has turned into a mountainous stumbling block for too many people. As most of our dilemmas go, we usually begin by asking the wrong question. In this instance, the first question is not, “Should I wear a mask?”

One of the hottest trending terms the last decade is the word woke. It means to be aware, as in, “I have woke up to [this cause].” Formerly, you were not aware; now, you are. The word woke is most often used in the context of oppression, and within this group of woke people, you will find a spectrum of adherents. On one end, there are the innocent idealists, and on the other, there are angry activists.

Abuse is a broad category. In today’s culture, it may include micro-aggressions, which can be anything from subtle to intentional slights toward another person.
