Reflect on your time spent in prayer this week.

Has it been easier? More difficult? Why do you think that is?

Take a moment this week to talk with someone about this and encourage each other / share your experience together.

Whats got your attention? What are you focused on?

Take stock of your attention-giving capacity this past week. Is it lop-sided on the news? Worry? Sinful thoughts?

Who can keep you accountable to keeping your focus on Jesus and his goodness rather than stuck on alternatives?

Re-read Philippians 4:8-9:

There is so much good stuff to be thankful for in the world. You just have to pay attention!

What do you see around you that is true, honourable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, or worthy of praise?

Take some time to reflect on those things and express thanks to God for them

Prayer Suggestions

Pray for a greater focus on Jesus amidst a world of potential distractions

Confess sin and remember that if we confess, Jesus will forgive (1 John 1:9)

As Pastor Jonathan prayed, take some time to intercede for:

Government leaders (wisdom, discernment, courage, etc)

Front-line workers(even those in our own church congregation)

How can you practically rejoice in the Lord during this season?

Pastor Jonathan mentioned, The more you try to control everything, the greater the stress, anxiety, and fear that you experience.

Where do you see this evident in your life? What is preventing you from letting go of control?

What is one thing you can do this week to bring your focus back to God and increase your trust in Him?

Who do you need to call? Where is God opening a door for you to serve?

Prayer Suggestions

Pray about your anxieties; be honest and express them specifically to God. Perhaps start with, God Im scared about

Give thanks for who God is and what He has done.

Pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)

Pray along with Job, Naked I came from my mothers womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. (Job 1:21)

Pray for opportunities to love and serve others this week.

How are you feeling with regard to everything that is going on around us right now? Are you confused, disappointed, frustrated, afraid? (Remember to be sensitive to the different feelings of others.)

Read Matthew 6:25-26 and remind each other of the truth of Gods sovereignty and care.

Pastor Jonathan mentioned Psalm 103 (particularly verses 15-16) and Psalm 90:12. Take a moment to read those passages again:

How do these passages apply to what were currently facing in our world?

How have you been investing your time and energy? On the things that are most important? Or on non-essentials?

How do some peoples concerns over COVID-19 actually reveal what theyve truly been depending upon? What about you? What do your concerns show about your dependencies?

Be aware and act! What opportunities do you have to love and support those around you?
