Often, we talk about post-pandemic as if it was a thing of the past that has no lingering effect on us today. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. The pandemic affected everyone, from infants to the elderly, yet it's easy to overlook the post-pandemic life for our children. Special guest Summer Ford joins us, and shares her knowledge and experience in working with at-risk youth middle schoolers, and her thoughts about moving forward post-pandemic. Mental health matters, and we use that as a centering point for this conversation.

Not only do we talk about all sorts of burn out, we talk about ways that us ladies have coped with it. You’ll also get to hear about Emily’s car getting broken into, and the importance of insurance. We took a long weekend joint family trip to go explore a pumpkin patch in Nebraska…and per usual, we walked away with many stories to tell! Naturally, the entire family joined in to record as we played a very unstructured game of family trivia. Learn who has a thing with SPK and who has the most delicate shins!

It’s in the name, people. We are imperfect. So, after several deep episodes, we decided to dial it back this week and answer questions given to us randomly. Hear all about wearing socks and water shoes to sand volleyball, and the geriatric dog.
Question generator used in recording was from www.conversationstarters.com

Aristotle said it, and we are talking about it! He once said that there are 3 types of friendships: friendships of utility, friendships of pleasure, and friendships of the good. As we discuss this, we eventually move the conversation to our spin on what we think the varying types of friendships are, and how not all friendships are meant to last a lifetime.

Isn’t nostalgia something? As Emily got caught behind a parade prior to recording, it spurred on memories of attending the county fair as a child. Join us “country girls” as we talk about 4-H and what memories of the fair were like for each of us, back in Western KS and Western NE.
