Lv: Ziema Rīgā sākās ar sniegu, kas klāja cobblestone bruģi kā pūdercukurs.
En: Winter in Rīga began with snow covering the cobblestone pavements like powdered sugar.

Lv: Vecrīgā, kur satiec smaržu no karstvīna un karsto piparkūku garšu ar katru ieelpu, bija vērojama kustība – Rīgas Ziemassvētku tirdziņš bija atvērts.
En: In Vecrīga, where the scent of mulled wine and the taste of hot gingerbread were present with every breath, there was movement - the Rīgas Ziemassvētku tirdziņš was open.

Lv: Aija stāvēja pie ieejas, skatoties uz tirdziņa gaismām.
En: Aija stood at the entrance, looking at the market lights.
