-Work with a therapist, coach, or support system to gain skills and a healthy understanding of what changes need to happen to help your family relationship become healthier and happier.
-Create a plan to rewire the rules of the system.
-Decide how you want to engage differently with your family.
-Give yourself the resources to execute and act on the plan.
-Practice. It takes time–it will be messy in the beginning.
Awareness and insight about how you fall into traps helps you learn how to stay out of the traps. Learning how to stand up for yourself takes time!
