God tells the land to appear out of the waters, forming a single land mass. Then God tells the land to bring forth fruit. The words used don't give the impression that God created the plants; instead, it is as though the land itself makes the plants. Plants seem to be a part of the land, and flowers are part of the plant.

In these verses, we are told that Yahweh is the one who created the system of rain. The Hebrews lived among a polytheistic nation for hundreds of years, and they needed to learn that the God of their fathers is “one” all-powerful Creator.We also get a glimpse into how to read these early chapters correctly. We are working with a limited language and knowledge, yet the message is accurate and understandable today.

On day one, a new light came to the earth. As we learned from our previous video, the universe existed, and the sunset and sunrise were present on the first day, so what was that light? We will see what the Bible says about the first day's light and what it means for us today.

In Genesis chapter 1:2, we are told that the earth was, at one time, formless and void. These two words set up the discussion of chapter one. It gives us the information we need to read the first chapter correctly.
