    “Assault Troops” comes mainly from my disgust at the way we treat survivors of sexual assault, and how survivors are routinely asked questions about their behavior that no other category of crime victim is forced to answer. Meanwhile, no one bothers to ask a cop if he might have provoked someone into attacking them. The mind boggles.

    Benjamin Goldenhour (the songplayer.) is serious about play, encouraged in chaos, and loves a good ol’ fashioned mistake; he has no idea what he is doing, but that has fortunately never been a hindrance. He lives in the woods somewhere outside Seattle with his novel-writing partner, rock-chewing mutt, ever-curious pre-schooler, and wondrous newborn. Listen for his new music on the second day of each month.

  • 9/30/26: “Starbird,” by Adam SoRelle
    Starbird, believe it or not, is my first published solo electric song. That is, it’s just me without any other musical contribution - and it’s not just acoustic.
    The inspiration behind the myth of the “Eternally Old” mythical creature is actually from exit #218 on I5 – Starbird Road. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven past and made a mental note to write something. – On the way back home to Anacortes from our trip to Leavenworth in February I saw it again – and Finally! The gears started turning. We stayed in a small, rustic cabin with incredible views of a sweeping canyon and vast snow capped mountains, covered in a mysterious fog.

    T.F.L.A. is a song about aliens abducting me to steal all of my knowledge of Sweet Beets (my old funk band) to help fuel their groove. Before they could finish, our Sweet Beets house toaster named Fred Emerson came and saved me.
