Two years ago today, I released Rise Up.
I actually wrote it during recovery from my first major brain injury.

At the time, I had just joined Fit For Service and started making friends again.
I got to perform the song on the last day of our Summit…
and the way people responded… it changed me.

Suddenly, all the pain, all the isolation, the struggle to feel human again,
it felt worth it.

During my darkest nights, I used to tell myself:
“If I can just make music again, life will be worth it.”

It took me a while to record the song, I put so much pressure on it.
But two years ago, I let go… and just had fun.

I hope you enjoy it.
