Bio:

Jamar Williams is a creative entrepreneur who specializes in innovation and technology and is the Founder and CEO of drone communications company, PromoDrone.  Currently, Jamar spends his time developing PromoDrone’s global business operations and reinvesting his time in nonprofit and community organizations throughout San Diego County. He is a board member of the San Diego Parks Foundation and has supported the Pro Kids Golf Academy, It’s All About the Kids, as well as Warren Walker Middle School with drone education and services.

His company PromoDrone, is recognized globally for its focus on providing aerial drone digital display communications for emergency response systems as well as the advertising and marketing industries. PromoDrone has gained significant traction via the advancement of their digital display drone prototype, the Vets to Drone workforce partnership, and their recent OEM manufacturing partnership with Draganfly Inc. (DRPO-Nasdaq). He is a founding member of The Constellation Alliance, a consortium of electric aviation companies focused on delivering a sustainable response infrastructure consisting of UAV and eVTOL aircraft in an EMS vertiport ecosystem.

Jamar, a Baltimore, MD native, is a certified FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot in Command and graduate of William Paterson University of New Jersey and is additionally supported by the California Manufacturers Technology Consultants organization and ConnectAll at The Jacobs Center.

Bio
With only the funds from his tax return in 2016 Trivelle started The Drive Group and has since grown it into a multi million dollar company. His history of working in start up environments across varying industries helped him to develop the skill of identifying smart risks, and knowing when to step back and when to push forward. After several years working for large organizations such as Davis + Henderson, The Royal Bank of Canada, Genworth, Manulife, and as the Chief Operating Officer for Chelle Service Capital, Trivelle was inspired to start a company that focused on trends and analysis to help businesses achieve consistent cash flow. 

In the beginning, this kernel of an idea was fueled by his feeling that there must be a better way to do business. That core value is still true of The Drive Group today. Welcome to the latest episode of the Rise Urban Nation podcast! Today, we're excited to announce the launch of the Rise Urban Nation Journal for Black History Month. Our journal aims to support early-stage and aspiring entrepreneurs in the Black and Pan-African community who struggle with taking an idea to a business concept.

We understand that one of the biggest mindset struggles for Black entrepreneurs is the fear of failure, which may be amplified by systemic barriers and discrimination they may face in the business world. Our journal focuses on mindset specifically for the struggles of our Black communities in the approach to starting a business. It also addresses imposter syndrome, feeling like they don't belong or aren't capable of success in a predominantly white business culture.

In the journal, you'll find inspiring stories from successful Black entrepreneurs who have overcome these challenges, practical tips and advice on how to build resilience, find mentorship and support, and focus on the potential impact and value of your ideas. The journal also includes prompts and exercises to help you develop a positive and empowering mindset that will help you succeed in your entrepreneurial journey.

About: 

William A. Adams is a software engineering trailblazer, award-winning DEI innovator, and philanthropist. After rolling out critical XML code globally in many of Microsoft's core products, he was named the first Technical Advisor to the CTO, Kevin Scott.

While leading and mentoring young developers, often as the only Black man in the room, William found that DEI hiring was always someone else’s problem – until he decided to make it his.

Acting as an intrapreneur, William has founded and overseen global initiatives that revolutionize how underserved communities access jobs and launch careers at the company. ReadHer (pronounced like Reader!) is named after the woman who reads! It's the brain child of a passionate book reader. Like most, Ashley was just an avid reader who wanted to find community amongst other readers to talk about books.

ReadHer came along like a lot of things do; time and opportunity. Early during the pandemic Ashley spent a lot of time reading and browsing for more books to read. One day she came across a book subscription box company and was disappointed to see that it wasn't as diverse as she'd hoped.
