I don’t know how many times I’ve said to others and to myself, when life got heavy, “I just can’t focus”. I eventually realized that that was a lie. I could focus pretty well, in fact. When things were difficult, I couldn’t keep my mind steady on the tasks in front of me for 2 minutes. However, I could see clearly all that was bothering me and even sit with the thoughts and the emotions of them for hours, even days. I believe we all have this tendency. Life gets tough and we can’t seem to focus on the necessary things. The reality is the problem isn’t our ability to focus, it’s what we chose to focus on. Let’s get deeper into this.
