What does it mean to "walk in the light"? It means, first, that we seek to walk away from sin, and to avoid evil - because God is without sin and without evil. Second, it means that when we do sin, we confess it to the God who is able to forgive and cleanse us. Walking in the light means dealing honestly with our sin.

In 1 John 1:1-4, we see the Apostle John's opening words to an ancient church he ministered to. Our desires are both our greatest strength and our greatest weakness. Beneath every good deed is an foundational desire, and beneath every sin is an unruly desire.
