Now that the outside wall was completed we look to the inside and what truths we can gleam from the second half of the book of Nehemiah.

The next chapter in the story of Nehemiah centers around Nehemiah 5 and what personal sacrifice may look like in our attempts to move from RUIN to reBUILD in our world and our lives.

If you want to move an area of ruin & devastation in this world or in your own personal life to a place of renewal & "rebuilt", the first step is you have to have PASSION, the second step is you need to PERSEVERE in PRAYER, the third step is you need to PREPARE a PLAN, and when God opens the door, PROCLAIM it, the fourth step is PARTNERSHIP, and the fifth step is PERSEVERANCE. Remember the movie "Field of Dreams" and the line "if you build it, they will come?" Well if you rebuild, the "they" in "they will come" could very easily represent opposition. Not everyone wants to see you succeed. There are always people, forces & institutions which benefit from areas in our world or in our personal lives remaining broken and in ruins. So how do we PERSEVERE despite inevitable opposition? We must pray honestly, we must pray and post, we must pray and remember that God is "great" and God is "awesome", and we must pray for strength.

This Sunday morning we'll continue into the back half of our series, "reBUILD: life lessons from Nehemiah". Although one person's actions can have a massive impact on those around them, and although one person can be the spark that ignites the flames, it is only when we truly work side-by-side next to one another as partners, that we can accomplish great change. We can accomplish more together than we ever could on our own.

To move from RUIN to REBUILT we have to see insight in the life of Nehemiah. He had a passion, he prayed persistently and this week we will see he Prepared a Plan.

We are looking at ways that we can partner in prayer with each other in the process of moving things from RUIN to REBUILT.
