Support worker Bec will never forget her first day working with Junction. Less than 48 hours before, her family home had been burnt to the ground and she was left contemplating the fate of her father and brothers as flames engulfed Kangaroo Island. It was one of the most devastating bushfires in our state - and nation's - history. But from the ashes, has emerged enormous resilience, growth and kindness. In our emotion-charged first episode, we speak with KI locals and Junction staff Bec Davis and Maree Baldwin from our Kangaroo Island Community Centre about the devastating bushfires earlier this year and how they have summoned the strength to support their Island home rise from the ashes.
