We are excited to showcase a member of one of the premier military bands in the country; she is Master Sergeant Lauren Veronie Urquhart of The United States Army Field Band.  This amazing woman discusses how she balanced motherhood and performing as a touring soloist, provides information on the diverse career opportunities that military bands offer, and shares her ascent from part-time social media manager to public affairs specialist for the organization.

Although Jason was self-taught in high school, this aspiring orchestral tubist has always succeeded at the highest level in his pursuit of a principal position in a major symphony orchestra. He shares his experiences as a tuba fellow during his time with the Minnesota Orchestra and explains how he was able to overcome a major performance issue that affects some brass musicians.

Jason has established a reputation as one of the top euphonium instructors in the Southeast and has shared his musical passion through solo recitals and other performances throughout the region. Originally trained as both a pianist and a horn player, Donna eventually found her calling in administration at the Yale School of Music. Her current position not only has given her the opportunity to mentor young people of all educational backgrounds, but also has allowed Donna to lead an activist role in addressing anti-Asian hate and supporting other social justice movements in this country, including Black Lives Matter (BLM).
