1) Jesus is GOD.
"8"And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: 'The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life." (Revelation 2:8, ESV)
"58Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." 59So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple." (John 8:58–59, ESV)
2) Jesus understands my STRUGGLES.
"9" 'I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say that they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan." (Revelation 2:9, ESV)
· With my ENVIRONMENT.
"8We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;" (2 Corinthians 4:8, ESV)
thlibo (θλίβω, 2346), "to suffer affliction, to be troubled," has reference to sufferings due to the pressure of circumstances, or the antagonism of persons,,, when used of the present experience of believers, refer almost invariably to that which comes upon them from without. - W. E. Vine, Merrill F. Unger, and William White Jr., Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (Nashville, TN: T. Nelson, 1996), 17.
· With my RESOURCES.
"9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich." (2 Corinthians 8:9, ESV)
· With the LIES told about Jesus.
βλασφημία blasphēmia; from 989; slander:—abusive language(1), blasphemies(4), blasphemous(2), blasphemy(6), railing(1), slander(3), slanders(1). - Robert L. Thomas, New American Standard Hebrew-Aramaic and Greek Dictionaries : Updated Edition (Anaheim: Foundation Publications, Inc., 1998).
"10"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11"Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account." (Matthew 5:10–11, ESV)
3) I should have no FEAR when evil comes.
"10Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation… (Revelation 2:10a, ESV)
"9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."" (Joshua 1:9, ESV)
4) Eternal Life is FAITH'S reward.
Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life." (Revelation 2:10b, ESV)
"12And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13But the one who endures to the end will be saved." (Matthew 24:12–13, ESV)
5) Listen up! Hell can't harm the CONQUER.
"11He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.'" (Revelation 2:11, ESV)
"8But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."" (Revelation 21:8, ESV)
