Title: "Who Then Can Be Saved?"
Text: Mark 10.17-27
Summary: The encounter between Jesus and the "rich young ruler" is one of the most fascinating in the entire Bible. He often gets a bad rap, but in many ways he's more impressive than us. He genuinely longed for Jesus, and he was incredibly devoted to ethics and morality. Yet after interacting with Jesus he walked away sad, and the disciples walked away shocked. After witnessing the conversation they asked, "If this young man can't be saved, then who can?" There is much about this encounter that shows us who Jesus really is, and what it means to genuinely respond to the call of discipleship from Jesus.
