Jesus announced the arrival of the Kingdom of God everywhere he went. He also demonstrated the arrival of that Kingdom by healing the sick or by setting people free from demonic oppression or by multiplying food of silencing a storm. And with the announcement of the Kingdom Jesus extended an invitation to enter the Kingdom. He leaves us with two very important questions: have we entered the Kingdom? Have we accepted the Kingdom?

Mark 10:1-12

Jesus passes into new territory and the crowds gather to hear him teaching. At the same time the Pharisees show up not to learn, but to ask questions in order to ensnare Jesus with a wrong answer. They ask a question about divorce. Jesus gives them an answer to a much more important question.

If we are going to take last place and serve others no sacrifice is too great.

God made manifest to humanity. What is the impact of that historical event on events in the present?

God has made himself know not just is the past but also very much in the present and in the very ordinary things of life.

As we celebrate the Christmas season and look to the new year, how can we seek God's presence in the ordinary parts of life?
