The Spirit Leads Our Prayers —  Prayer and faith are not a formula. Do we ever copy other people’s prayer styles or accept their perspective of God’s will simply because we have failed to experientially developed our own? Is the world affecting our prayer life instead of the other way around? Are we surrendered to allow the Lord to change the way we think, which in turn should change the way we approach Him in prayer?

Love Like a Fire – Part 2 —  Through Jesus, we have been given access to enter God’s presence with boldness, frankness, and confidence. God’s purpose for the church is to display his manifold wisdom to the darkness that stands in opposition to the Kingdom of God. Christ is the Solution-provider, and we the Church are the delivery mechanism. We were made to carry the peace of the Holy Spirit as part of our “new creature” design. Jesus doesn’t want for us to be dominated by worry. He wants for us to be free in our thought-life. He is coming soon, and He wants us to be free to server Him and others whole-heartedly before He returns.

Love Like a Fire  —  Christ cares for the world and wants to bring freedom, hope, and healing to it through His church. The church of our nation generally loves God, tries to live a good lifestyle, but often does not burn passionately with love for Him. Jesus loves the church immeasurably, and He will refine her until she is spotless and loves the things that He loves. He will discipline us (train us) because He loves us, it is good for us, and it causes us to share in His holiness.

Humbling Ourselves and Living in His Kindness  —  God has a plan with a right time to lift up and honor His children. His plan is perfect and His timing is unquestionably right. We cannot underestimate the critical importance of living in the reality of His care for us. His love drives us to cast our cares on Him. In His kindness, God called us to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after we have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen us, and He will place us on a firm foundation.

Fill Me, Holy Spirit  —  God gives us the Holy Spirit when we accept Christ with faith. God desires to progressively reveal more of Himself to us. And He wants for us to desire more of Him. Scripture shows several times when God filled His disciples with the Holy Spirit more deeply, leading to more power and greater witness for Jesus. It is time to pursue deeper encounters with the Holy Spirit and fan into flames the gifts and purposes He is calling us to.

What Jesus is Doing on the Earth – Part 2  —  Jesus is training His people not to resist Him. He is leading the charge with the blessing of repentance among both the godly and ungodly alike. He wants nothing to stand between us and Him. He gives His people a lifestyle of hearing His voice and refreshment in His Presence. We must seek to live only out of intimacy with Him. The true power of the believer is in their intimate experience with Jesus, not their knowledge of the information of Scripture alone.

The Spirit of Boldness  —  In

the early church, the disciples asked for boldness, so the Lord filled them

with His Spirit. Because they were filled freshly with His Spirit, they became

bold in speaking about God and showing His ways. The boldness of the Holy

Spirit can lead to outward expressions of courage, quiet trust and assurance,

living in new levels of freedom, and standing out prominently against an

oppressed environment. Today is a new day to be filled with a fresh outflow of

the Holy Spirit, leading to fresh outflows from our lives to others.  We will more than likely face accusations from

others as we simply experience more of God’s freedom, power, and impact. But we

aren’t to run from the tension or address it with human effort or indignation. God

will use these attacks to build our endurance for greater impact through the

Spirit on those around us.

The Holy Spirit leads in how to pray and reveals the Father’s heart to us regarding His will. Have you ever noticed that prayer was an intentional priority in the early church described throughout the Book of Acts? We need to get back to our early church roots and make prayer an intentional part of our Christian life.  Prayer must be a priority, including private prayer, small group prayer, and corporate prayer.

The Spirit of

Purity  —  The believers of the early New Testament

Church were devoted to teaching, fellowship, and prayer. They understood their

identity as Children of God and lived as new creatures with new lives and

power. If we want to experience true spiritual growth and freedom, we need to

understand what it means to be a disciple and how the Holy Spirit leads the

discipleship process. The Church must be reminded of its identity in Christ and

it’s necessary response to that identity. We have drifted far from these things

in the modern church, but it is never too late to find God’s heart to lead us

back to His best.
