This sermon clarifies at least 5 reason Jesus died on the cross. Why did such a thing need to happen? In clarifying God's why for sending Christ, our why as followers and our purpose for life becomes clear.

God invites us back into His presence. To the place where we first new him in our greatest distress. Idols of the past must be buried. The old is gone. The new has come. We must strain ahead into the upward calling and enjoy the promises of His ever present Christ.

Genesis 24 portrays brothers that go to war for their sister. It is the origin story for the Levitical priests who are portrayed as vengeful warriors in Exodus 32. The Levites will be chosen mediators for Israel until Jesus the ultimate warrior-king-priest comes to make the ultimate sacrifice.
