17.11.23 - A recent report on the Principality’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the year 2022, published by Monaco Statistics (IMSEE) has revealed that after a strong economic recovery in 2021, Monaco stands out again with double-digit growth.
In 2022, Monaco’s GDP was €8.34 billion, up from €7.29 billion in 2021. This represents an 11.1% increase from last year. As a reminder, GDP had already increased by 21.9% in 2021 and over the decade, GDP grew by an annual average of 4.6%.
As is the case every year, substantial differences in economic performance were noted across the different sectors. The GDP of ten out of 12 of the Major Economic Sectors in the Monegasque economy increased from last year, and 11 exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
The three largest sectors in terms of GDP remain unchanged. Nearly half of all wealth created in the Principality in 2022 (49.1%) comes from scientific and technical activities, administrative and support services; financial and insurance activities; and wholesale trade.

And - As part of an initiative by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, an exhibition entitled “The Prince at the Heart of the Circus” has been organized as part of the Commemorations of the Centenary of Prince Rainier III and the 50th anniversary of the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival.
Coordinated by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Prince Rainier III Commemoration Committee, in collaboration with Monte-Carlo Festivals, this retrospective will be held from November 22, 2023 to January 28, 2024, in the former Automobile Museum, located on the Terraces of Fontvieille.
The International Circus Festival was founded in 1974 by Prince Rainier III, who led numerous actions in favour of the circus world. His visionary spirit and his kindness towards artists and animals gave new life to the circus arts.
At the heart of the exhibition, unfolds the captivating story of Prince Rainier III and the Circus, between tradition and modernity, which has made this Festival an unmissable meeting place for the greatest families and circus schools in the world.
