In this week’s Monaco Update the covid vaccination requirement has been lifted for healthcare workers as well as the end of automatic self-isolation for positive covid cases. Given the positive development in the COVID-19 epidemic noted over the last few months, the Prince’s Government has decided to relax the current health regulations.
From Saturday 11 March 2023, people who test positive for COVID-19 will no longer be automatically required to self-isolate. From the same date, contacts of a positive case will no longer be monitored by the home monitoring unit and will no longer have to take a PCR or antigen test two days after their last contact.
Furthermore, the COVID-19 vaccination requirement set out September 2021 will be lifted early, allowing those staff who were suspended to return to work from Monday 27 March 2023.
As we emerge from this crisis, the Prince’s Government encourages anyone who has symptoms of a respiratory infection, whether due to COVID, flu or any other virus where there is a risk of airborne transmission, to wear a mask, use barrier measures and consult their usual doctor. Note that mask wearing is still mandatory in healthcare facilities.
Also, in this week’s Monaco Update we look ahead to the 6th edition of the Monaco Ocean Week organised by The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, The Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, Albert I Prince of Monaco Foundation, The Scientific Centre of Monaco, The Yacht Club of Monaco and the Government of Monaco with the support of Rolex and Barclays Private Bank.
The idea of a week of meetings, debates and actions dedicated to the ocean was born from an obvious fact: the key players in the world of the sea must share their analysis of the major issues of marine conservation and mobilise to preserve the oceans. Every year local and international experts, the scientific community, associations and the public meet in the Principality or virtually for the Monaco Ocean Week.
The Monaco Ocean Week starts on Monday 20th March with a welcoming address from HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco at 9am at the Oceanographic Museum here in Monaco. The event runs until Sunday 26th March.
