WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUR DUNKIN!! A sense of normalcy is afoot here in Asheville as the curfew has been lifted and businesses are opening back up!! We kicked the show off with opening audio...Jeff was lost about some Simpsons audio Rizzo chuckled over...An annoying Walmart worker has to sing people home at the end of the night when the store closes...People were cheering as a granny attempted to get on an escalator and took a tumble...What is the proper apology when a funeral home allows your loved one to fall out of the pack of the hearse on the way to the graveyard? That happened to a family...The funeral home gave a written apology...The Biltmore is reopening Nov. 2nd...The USPS has agreed to a new deal with their workers and there will now be pay raises and air conditioned trucks...President Trump had quite a weekend as he made fries and served folks at a McDonalds...Not only that, he also talked about his good friend Arnold Palmer...Not just about the man...But about his manhood...Now we know why Arnold Palmer iced tea/lemonade comes in the big can...The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame was over the weekend and we zeroed in on two current artists that sang for the inductees...One Jelly Roll who lost his breath singing Ozzie...And Kelly Clarkson who blew away Lou Gramm...What is the meanest thing you could do to someone? How about robbing someone's shoe store and only taking all of the right shoes...If you travel to New Zealand, just make sure you keep the hugging to a minimum...The airport there has made a new rule that you can only hug for 3 minutes and you have to move on...Jeff feels it is wayyy too long...How awkward is that? This was QUITE the week. As we BEGIN A LONG arduous rebuild like so MANY in our DEVISTATED COMMUNITY we tried to bring a light and levity to those who are STRUGGLING and TRYING to find some light and laughter in this HORRIFIC TRAGEDY... We have BEEN THERE and WILL CONTINUE to BE THERE for ALL OF YOU because we are WNC STRONG!!!

80 percent of the water has returned!!! We spoke on the show today with Clay Chandler who is the spokesperson for the water department of the city of Asheville, and he didn't want to commit but he did feel that we should be at 100% in the next 72 hours...As fast-food restaurants now re-open, can we leave the workers alone and not attempt to go viral with them? A simple discussion about Henry Winkler brought some levity to the show...It involved Jelly Roll, Taylor Swift and a list of 80's professional wrestlers...We learned Mariah Carey has a secret grunge album...We discussed the folks in Swannanoa who are living in tents in the cold and tried to figure out ways to help them...That and so much more as we adjust to our new normal after Helene...Don't wind up on the Rizzy Wrong List and listen to this Thursday edition of The Rizzo & Jeff Show!!

Jeff gets his water back and Rizzo’s water pipes explode in his bathroom…What a crazy mid-week show we are having…Despite it all we are seeing the water make its way all around the county no matter what the color is…We were trying to figure out what hue of brown the water was. A caller posed and interesting question about if it is OK to begin using his guilty pleasure…His bidet…Former President Jimmy Carter who recently turned 100 years old his giving folks a chance to become a junior ranger…Those skills might have come in handy these past few weeks…Kevin Costner made a song about hurricane relief and Rizzo was not a fan…That and so much more as we navigate the recovery of Helene in week 3.

The water or wooder is returning more and more each day!! As we kicked off Tuesday, we talked about the video of hydrants open downtown! More businesses are beginning open or prepare to open and it is a welcoming sight…We discussed Jeff wanting badly to get a haircut and if he should go silver fox…The overwhelming consensus is that he silver foxes this party up…We listened to a woman who was making an attempt to come donate her time in NC with the recovery, but she flexed her muscle of a Frontier airlines flight…We are learning that there is a “seacret” Long John Silver’s society…We keep the positive vibes and the H20 train chugging along on this Tuesday edition of The Rizzo & Jeff Show!!

WE HAVE H20!! Water has begun flowing again in Asheville and we are slowly starting to see certain towns being able to flush their toilets…We had some listeners take umbrage with us over our dislike for Long John Silvers…Surprisingly it is a hit in this town…Gil called with excitement about his water returning and let us know he is going to take a bath with his collection of rubber ducks…It seems the hot costume this year for Halloween is Sponge Bob SquarePants…Why are there holes cut out of the costumes? Life is slowly getting back to normal…Remember BOIL THAT WATER!!

As we close out week 2 after Helene's destruction, we are feeling that Asheville and surrounding areas are starting feel things are beginning to slowly look up. After yesterday's great update about the water, we are hearing from more and more people that have their water being turned on. Rizzo was able to meet the CEO of McDonalds who was helping hand out food at the McRig. Jeff finally got his clothes washed downtown at The Laundry Relief Zone...We spoke to Matt Pozda who is the CEO of Call Dad...They are doing amazing work in the community...Rizzo was handed the diabetic baton from Wilford Brimley...We head into the weekend with optimism...WNC STRONG!!

Today on the Thursday 10/10 edition of The Rizzo & Jeff Show, the optimism was pouring in. More and more calls came through about water and power coming back on! Rizzo was able to get his insulin thanks to some amazing folks from Tallahassee, FL! We talked about the plans to open schools in the coming weeks…And as the show wound down, we got a major update about a main connection of the water system being connected. It might be baby steps, but we are getting there Asheville!!

We talked about the potential positive repair of the water system...We also chatted the possibility of schools and restaurants opening! We heard amazing stories from locals in remote communities helping each other get through this disaster. There were some feelings of optimism today!
