Primavera Hacker began in 2013 as an initiative of the collective Hackería, conceived as a para-academic activity sponsored by the Design Department of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Chile (FAU), and with the support of the National Council for Culture and the Arts (CNCA) to facilitate the participation of international guests. Over time, and once the collective ceased to function as such, the festival continued bringing together different people, collectives, and organizations that gradually joined to shape each new edition.
